In-School Music Program
Since our founding, the In-School Program remains part of the core curriculum at public schools in Harlem, serving students every year who would otherwise not have access to music education in violin. The convenience and accessibility of this program has allowed us to continue to work with parents, teachers, principals, administrators and students from many of the schools Roberta Guaspari first served at the beginning of the program in 1991 when music programs were cut from public schools. The In-School Program’s long-term influence can be seen with program graduates who return to Opus 118 as teachers and interns, including Charlene Bishop, Nicole Wright, and Amanda Negron.
