100-Day Practice Challenge

QA5A8701

We were thrilled to begin Opus 118’s second annual 100-Day Practice Challenge on Monday, January 12th! The challenge, which encourages students to practice at least 80 days in a 100-day span, will end on Tuesday, April 21st.

Here’s how it works:

  • Students take home a weekly practice chart with personalized assignments from their teachers
  • Students return their weekly practice charts to their teachers signed by their parents to verify how many days they practiced that week
  • Teachers file the weekly practice charts and tally how many days the students have practiced

At the end of the 100 days, all students who have practiced more than 80 days (not including lessons and ensembles) will get to play in our special recital hour, followed by a pizza party with healthy snacks.  They will also receive prizes depending on whether they reached 80, 90, or 100 days of practicing!

Last year – our first year with the practice challenge – was very successful and parents let us know that it acted as an incentive for many students to find time to practice daily. We are very excited to see the progress our students will make over this time and look forward to hearing them at the special recital on Friday, May 1st!
